Be a PRX Intern
Do you loooooove public radio? Do you enjoy listening to pieces and reviewing them, and generally staring at the PRX website all day? Do you, like, want to marry it and have a billion of its babies?

Well good, because we're looking for an intern.*
The ideal PRX intern is:
- In Boston. Where we are. Hooray!
- Tech-savvy. Not in a "I have fashioned this authorized Mac laptop out of twigs and dry leaves I collected from the forest" kind of way (although heck, you're very welcome to join us too), but in a general ambivalence toward computers and internet kind of way. We're an internet organization. HTML is involved with many of our day-to-day activities, as are Photoshop, Excel spreadsheets and wiki-editing. We use both Mac and PC computers. If you're already comfortable with these things, you can settle right in.
- Self-motivated. We're a small team, and there's a ton that needs to be done.
- People-friendly, and people-smart. Strong writing and communication skills are a must. Can you draft a friendly, helpful email? Answer the phone without sounding like an intern? Schmooze at public radio parties in a nice, unterrified manner? (Note: I am terrified at radio parties.)
- A public radio fan. This one's important. Are you a listener? A producer? A podcaster? A member? Do you have an opinon as to what you'd like to hear on the radio?
If you have a combination of the above skills or a willingness to learn, please send your resume and a cover letter to internship@prx.org with "Intern: Your Name" as the subject header. If your strengths are more design or tech-oriented, send us some of your favorite sites. If you're a writer, send clips. Create an account on PRX with a complete profile (show us you know how to use the site!) and review a couple of pieces.
The internship begins in January of 2007, and will last through March. We'll need about 20 hours of your time per week, for which you will be compensated.
* We do not ask you to have a billion of our babies.
